A Finnish Winter Wonderland Delighted Travelers at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport’s Square from Late November 2019 to Early January 2020.
Together with Finavia and Helsinki-Vantaa’s commercial operators, we created a breathtaking winter wonderland that embodied the snowy Nordic winter and offered travelers a wintery experience amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport.
The Square was visually transformed into a stunning winter wonderland that drew travelers to its center to capture their visit on their own channels. Glittering white and gold details, frosted fir trees, and artificial snow created a surprising and enchanting experience in the middle of the airport. Additionally, large shopping bag elements served as eye-catching features, wishing travelers a merry Christmas and highlighting desired brand messaging. The Square’s winter wonderland soon took on a life of its own on social media, spreading worldwide!
The design and execution also incorporated the existing elements at the Square, such as the large leaf-shaped benches and the impressive 360-degree LED display. The multi-layered leaf benches were utilized in the arrangement of the winter wonderland structures and in showcasing various details. The LED display was used to present winter-themed visuals created from existing material, enhancing the winter atmosphere in the Square. Other audiovisual elements in the Square were also adapted to match the same wintery theme.
ME Studio’s event agency was responsible for the concept, design, physical execution, and overall project management of the Square’s winter wonderland. The project was led by an executive producer.
